Through The Years/The Family Pets
Gallery / Current Painting
Acrylic on Canvas
27” x 72”
This conglomeration of beloved critters represent the artist's lifetime of family pets, from big ol’
St. Bernard Burt to tiny blonde cockapoo Zeus, and forever-missed Emily (Carr), plus cantankerous parrot Gizmo, and even George the tortoise, who was always getting lost in the neighbourhood when the kids had promised to watch him carefully. Calgary’s radio audience got used to hearing that “George is lost again, folks” and he was always miraculously found, often meandering blocks away from home, and returned to my three grateful sons.
This painting was commissioned by Calgary North Veterinary Clinic and hung in their foyer in lieu of services rendered for many of our family’s pets.
