Through the Years/The Family Pets (plus 1)
72” x 72”
This conglomeration of critters represent the artist’s lifetime of beloved family pets. From big ol’ St. Bernard Burt, to tiny blond cockapoo Zeus, forever missed Emily (Carr), cantankerous parrot Gizmo, George the tortoise, who was always lost and then found again somewhere in the neighborhood, (the kids were supposed to WATCH him!), these were all a wonderful and much loved bunch.
The reference to “(Plus one)” in the title refers to the brown and white spaniel to the left of centre after my gallery owner, Virginia Christopher, begged me to add to the piece.
This painting was kindly commissioned and hung in their foyer by Calgary North Veterinary Clinic in lieu of services rendered for many of the above.
