The Vanishing Canadian / Big Lake Road, BC
Gallery / Current Painting
Acrylic on Canvas
72” x 54”
I painted a series that I named The Vanishing Canadian, which at the time implied a double entendre - both the elimination of a great portion of Western Canada’s ViaRail route in that period of Canadian history, as well as the threat to human habitation due to the menace of climate change and other environmental challenges.
A careful look at the midpoint, on the left side of the piece, shows the small red train cars snaking their way along the cliffside.
